I struggled with being called, “Daddy,” by younger gay men, as Arthur Keith wrote about, but I’ve made peace with it.
I was put off because, like Keith, I have children who call me “Daddy.”
I’ve experienced the challenges about which he writes. But I see “Daddy” in a more generic way, free from suggestions of incest.
We understand little about sexual attraction. The attraction between younger and older gay men (“age gap” or “intergenerational” relationships) has been discussed infrequently.
For some younger men, age is an essential factor in their sexual orientation. It has nothing to do with their relationships with their fathers.
