I couldn’t agree more. Once you’ve written your book, you have put so much time, energy, and emotion into it, take the next step by hiring an editor and a good cover design. I was hesitant to put the money into it, knowing that I would probably not recap the investment. I am so glad I did.
I also paid the extra for Grammarly, and I don’t regret it. I’ve always felt confident about my writing, but this tool has helped me improve. One thing you didn’t mention that is a real time-saver is the thesaurus: Just click on the word and other options pop up.
