Do you think it is generational?
It is interesting to me that here on Medium, LGBTQ has 46,000 followers while LGBT has only 4000. Do people only like the Q if it means something other than queer?
Although many of us who are old have experienced being called queer, I don’t hear friends among my LGBTQ contemporaries feeling particularly traumatized by it.
I suppose we could be inclusive if we called it LGBTP, with the P being for paraphilias. You might hear even more outcry for that.
